Summary

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Director of Billing & Collections. This pivotal role will empower you to take ownership and shape the future of our Accounts Receivable (AR) and Billing departments. As the Director, you will not only manage and guide these teams but build systems, processes and procedures, ensuring that our department thrives and aligns seamlessly with the broader organizational goals.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager in California, you will work as part of a growing team at a well-funded growth-stage tech company, will have direct communications with clients, and will have a significant opportunity to advance your career as the company scales.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction of the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Billing departments, fostering a culture of excellence and high-performance.
• Craft a cohesive team by attracting top talent, providing comprehensive training, and nurturing the professional growth of team members to support their career trajectories.
• Oversee the daily operations, ensuring efficient processes, accuracy and quickly addressing any challenges that arise.
• Serve as a respected point of escalation for customer inquiries, demonstrating exceptional customer service acumen.
• Evaluate, redesign, and establish new processes and procedures that elevate team productivity and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Cultivate robust internal partnerships with account management, sales teams, and billing personnel to proficiently address customer concerns.
• Develop an intricate understanding of the end-to-end order-to-cash workflow and its interconnections with other functional areas, fostering cross-functional synergies.
• Lead and execute special projects as required to drive operational excellence.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience managing teams within Accounts Receivable (AR)/Order-to-Cash (OTC) or related domains, with a strong emphasis on strategic thinking and team development.
• A proven track record of cultivating a positive team culture, empowering individuals to unlock their full potential, and driving teams towards exceptional results.
• Exceptional customer service skills, underscored by the capacity to establish and nurture enduring client relationships.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and meticulously documenting policies and procedures to uphold operational excellence.
• A degree in accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience) at the AA or BA level.
• Proficiency in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to follow-through.
• Proficiency in MS Office is essential; familiarity with accounting software, Salesforce, and/or billing software is highly desired.
• Availability to work in the IST timezone from 6:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST.
