About the Team

The Financial Services Sales team is dedicated to building relationships and driving sales with hedge funds, asset management firms, investment banks, and private equity firms. We engage with all levels within these organizations, from Junior Analysts and Portfolio Managers to Directors of Research and Heads of Equities. Our specialists understand the unique needs and challenges of the financial services industry and excel at delivering tailored solutions. With a highly tenured team, we bring extensive experience and deep industry knowledge, ensuring our clients receive expert guidance and support.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished new business sales leader to head our Financial Services sales team in London. This role focuses on selling to investment banks, asset management, hedge funds, and private equity clients. As a player-coach, you will drive sales, train and mentor talent, partner in hiring, and manage performance. Who You Are

● Experienced Sales Leader: You are an accomplished player-coach with a proven track record in managing business development teams. You excel in selling transactional SaaS technology, particularly in financial and investment research to Senior Analysts, Senior Associates, and Portfolio Managers.

● Proven Coach and Mentor: You have demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring quota- carrying SaaS hunting teams, either as a player/coach or in a sales leadership capacity.

● Performance Manager: You are adept at managing performance, ensuring your team meets and exceeds their targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

● High Achiever: You consistently meet and exceed team sales targets in high-volume SaaS sales environments. You value building a winning culture and thrive among top sales performers.

● Pipeline Builder: You excel at prospecting and building pipelines, identifying the right opportunities, and accessing key decision-makers within organizations. You influence and build advocacy to create conditions for enterprise sales and thrive in a high-volume transactional SaaS sales life cycle.

What You’ll Do:

● Drive New Business: Manage both your personal and team quotas. Lead a team of hunters focused on acquiring new clients. Guide them through researching opportunities, initiating discussions, building prospect relationships, conducting demos, managing product trials, and closing sales.

● Lead by Example: Mentor junior, staff, and senior-level employees by demonstrating best practices in closing deals and achieving sales success. In this Sales Leadership role, you will spend approximately 60% of your time as a Senior Seller and 40% as a Coach and Mentor to your team.

● Motivate and Empower: Coach, mentor, and drive new business from a quota-carrying SaaS Account Executive team, selling the AlphaSense platform to Senior Associates, Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and similar personas.

● Own the Sales Process: Take responsibility for the entire sales process in your territory, targeting hedge funds, asset managers, investment bankers, and sell-side research departments.

● Precision Forecasting: Forecast accurately and develop the necessary pipeline to meet and exceed goals.

● Collaborate with Marketing: Partner closely with our marketing team to expand brand awareness and drive demand generation.

● Engage Clients: Work closely with our Product Specialist team during trials to ensure high client engagement and satisfaction.

● Market Intelligence: Gather and relay information on market and client product needs to sales, product management, content, and product marketing teams to continuously enhance our offerings.

● Partner with Talent Acquisition: Collaborate closely with our talent acquisition team to identify, attract, and onboard top-tier sales talent aligned with AlphaSense's growth objectives and cultural values.
