What you will be responsible for:
Aro Homes is seeking a Procurement Specialist – who is a dynamic contributor with a robust understanding of systems and procedures to support our procurement function. This role will be responsible for the execution of all the Procurement activities at Aro Homes and building lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships with our external partners.
As Procurement Specialist, you will own the day-to-day procurement operations within the Materials Department. This role will ensure timely and accurate purchasing through supply/demand planning, data management, inventory replenishment and smooth communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers. You will serve as the tactical backbone of the department, executing the plans and strategies developed by the Procurement Materials Manager.
In this important role, you will be the cross-functional partner who supports a broad swath of critical business processes. You’ll lead an inventory replenishment roadmap that is focused on making us more efficient and effective at achieving current objectives and being prepared for future initiatives. A successful candidate will be highly organized, technically nimble, and obsessed with automation and the customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute daily purchase orders, order confirmations, and follow-ups with suppliers.
Maintain accurate data within ERP systems (NetSuite) for orders, lead times, pricing, and delivery status.
Monitor and track inventory levels, triggering reorders based on established thresholds.
Expedite and resolve order issues such as late deliveries, shortages, and quality discrepancies.
Support vendor onboarding, compliance checks, and documentation management.
Generate routine reports and maintain procurement dashboards (open orders, delivery status, spend analysis).
Collaborate closely with Operations, Plant, Design, and Site teams to ensure material availability and responsiveness.
Serve as first point of contact for tactical procurement issues before escalating to the Materials Manager.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders about procurement status, potential delays, or changes in material supply.
Ensure that all procured materials meet project specifications, quality standards, and compliance regulations.
Identifies and mitigates risks associated with material shortages, price fluctuations, and supplier reliability.
Work closely with quality control, inventory management and design teams to address any material defects, discrepancies, or issues.
This position requires working in a plant environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and other industrial conditions.
This role may involve physical activity, including lifting, carrying, standing, and moving materials as part of daily responsibilities.
Coordinate directly with plant personnel to align procurement with production schedules.
Flexibility is needed to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Occasionally require visiting vendors or suppliers to pick up materials or resolve urgent needs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in Procurement.
Experience with NetSuite software.
Understanding of accounting fundamentals.
Familiarity with inventory management practices.
Innovative thinker willing to take smart risks and try new approaches.
Strong analytical capabilities.
Entrepreneurial experience.
