Job Description

Senior Accountant reports to the Finance Manager in Ostrava. The main purpose of the role is execution of the accounting duties of the Czech entity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares accountings entries, maintains all balance sheet accounts & income statements reconciliation, and prepares any related analysis,
  • Prepares tax provision (CIT), monthly VAT returns, manages tax audit and supports external consultant for annual tax return preparation,
  • Supervises the month end process to meet all deadlines,
  • Manages the statutory audit and support for any requirement for the Group Audit,
  • Monitors compliance with corporate accounting policies and ensures internal controls are maintained,
  • Prepares any required regular or ad hoc reporting for external compliance and internal requirements

Qualifications

Education:

  • graduate: Master or Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting or similar (Economy, Administration)

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as independent accountant in an international organization
  • Experience in managing audits
  • Experience using an ERP, D365 is an asset

Skills:

  • Good level in English and Czech language, written & spoken
  • Good foundation in accounting and tax related matters
  • An asset: knowledge of Czech accounting and tax regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced knowledge in Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multi-tasking
  • An excellent sense of initiative and strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Occasional work with colleagues in different time zones
  • Ability to travel to office in Ostrava (Czech Republic) within agreed time frame
  • Hands-on approach (proactive and engaged approach to tasks, direct involvement in daily tasks)
  • Eager to learn more about Czech accounting and tax regulations
