Position Overview
We're seeking a Senior Product Designer who can own the look, feel, and usability of our web platform, with a strong focus on high-quality UI design. You will translate complex engineering workflows into clean, intuitive, and delightful interfaces while establishing and maintaining a scalable design system for consistent visuals and interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build prototypes in Figma and, ideally, with React/TypeScript to validate UI ideas and ensure technical feasibility.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to bridge the gap between design concepts and production-ready code.
- Work hand-in-hand with software engineers and hardware experts to deeply understand technical requirements.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback from internal teams and early customers.
- Contribute design insights that directly shape product direction.
- Conduct usability testing with engineers to refine UI workflows.
- Use data, product analytics, and real-world feedback to drive design decisions.
- Continuously improve the user experience with rapid iteration.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience designing digital products with a focus on UI and interaction design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing technical, UI-heavy product design work.
- Expertise with Figma (components, prototyping, design systems).
- Ability to prototype beyond static designs - comfortable tinkering with React/TypeScript (or similar front-end tools) to bring designs closer to production.
- Strong eye for visual detail, typography, and layout.
- Excellent collaboration skills - you can explain your design decisions to engineers and work through technical trade-offs.
- Self-starter mindset: thrive in a startup where priorities shift quickly and ambiguity is common.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing tools for technical users (engineers, scientists, developers, etc.).
- Familiarity with CAD, EDA, or other design/manufacturing workflows.
- Understanding of data visualization and dashboards.
- Previous startup experience.
