To start, we built Dosu as an AI teammate that acts as a first line of defense for ad-hoc engineering requests and incoming issues. Dosu is now the most popular bot for maintaining OSS projects and internal services. It is used by tens of thousands of developers every month.
Next, we are transforming Dosu into a living knowledge-base for engineering teams. With Dosu developers get the complete, up-to-date docs they’ve always wanted.

The Role

As the first marketing hire at Dosu, you’ll be working directly with the founder to build awareness of Dosu and make complete, up-to-date internal documentation something that every product and eng team expects to have by default for any project.

The Requirements

4+ years of experience working in marketing, developer relations, or developer evangelist at a company that sells to developers in a self-service, bottoms-up, or product-led way
You understand the software engineering persona deeply, and can speak their language in marketing collateral & content
You have experience across a wide range of marketing disciplines - including demand generation, community building, field & event marketing, product marketing, content, SEO, and engineering virality. You are excited to come into Dosu and experiment across a wide range of channels & approaches to identify the best ways to drive growth
Creativity & Agency - You can think from first principles about what is unique about a product/company and, as a result, how to market it. You dislike purely running traditional marketing playbooks and gain satisfaction from more clever, interesting ways to market something. You can independently own a marketing vision from concept to execution.
Extroverted by nature — you want to be part of the “face” of Dosu. You have built developer communities, spoken at conferences, or organized events and aren’t afraid to be loud.
Technical enough to use AI coding tools to hack together scripts or mini-apps
Data driven — know how to build a marketing funnel to gauge impact of content, growth hacks, and other marketing efforts. You are meticulous about measuring & understand ROI of marketing efforts

The Work

Collaborate directly with Dosu’s founder to shape and drive developer marketing strategies
Tell the story of the importance of complete, up-to-date documentation in an AI-first world
Lead content strategy and create posts on LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and Dosu’s blog
Build product demos and onboarding materials
Organize in-person events, conferences, hackathons
Grow and engage the Dosu community
Coordinate with external marketing agencies and freelancers when needed
Drive & measure demand generation efforts

The Process

Interviewing is hard. We aim to keep the interview process relatively succinct (1-3 weeks end-to-end), topical to what you’d be working on at Dosu, and—as much as possible—enjoyable.

A deep-dive into a previous projects that you’ve worked on, the scope of your role, what worked, what didn’t, etc.

3. Case Study (1 hour / Google Meet or In-Person)

You’ll be given a case study to present to the Dosu team.

4. Onsite (2 hours / In-Person)
