Robotics V&V Technician

We are looking for a Robotics Verification and Validation technician to join our robotics group.

The robotics team at Fabric has the responsibility of creating Fabric's robots, starting from initial concepts all the way to deploying fully operational fleets. The team consists of a diverse group of professionals including Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Computer Engineers, and software developers.

Position Overview:

As a V&V Technician, you will play a crucial role in testing and analyzing Fabric’s fleet of robots and all new features developed for them. Your primary goal will be to Design, perform and analyze tests within the robotics group, serving as the gatekeeper before full system integration testing.

Note: At the moment this is a 6 months temporary position, with the potential to transition into a full-time role, subject to approval and availability.

What you'll do:

  • Test Design: Develop an efficient test plan in collaboration with project stakeholders
  • Test Equipment and Tools: Set up and configure test equipment, tools, and software required for test execution
  • Test Documentation: Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, test logs, and test reports.
  • Test Execution: Execute the tests while reacting to and adapting to changes on the go. Identify defects, issues, or anomalies discovered during testing
  • Test Reporting: Provide detailed information and documentation to assist in the investigation and resolution of identified problems, with insights and proposals for solutions
  • Fault analysis: Take charge of the fault analysis for a robotic system, identifying the root causes behind each fault, and communicating the findings to the project team, accompanied by valuable insights and recommended solutions
  • Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with stakeholders throughout Fabric in order to effectively lead cross-team efforts to design tests, analyze results and propose solutions

Requirements

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or Practical Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or current final-year students pursuing these degrees.
  • Familiarity with testing concepts, methodologies, and tools. Prior experience in testing is preferred.
  • Ability to Design and perform effective test plans, test scripts, and test procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing techniques.
