Position Summary
As the Senior Product Manager you will lead efforts focused on helping Karius build in vitro diagnostic products. In addition your role will support identification of market development opportunities within the infectious disease diagnostic space, proposing differentiating product features and services, and contributing to building a multi-year product roadmap. You’ll closely collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Customer Success, Program Management and Research & Development teams to champion the customer voice as well as internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for candidates with solid previous experience in Dx product management and a very strong technical background.

Location: Redwood City, CA or Hybrid
Primary Responsibilities
• Working cross-functionally with R&D, Medical Affairs, Customer Success, Laboratory Operations, Clinical Operations, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development teams to collect requirements and create/maintain a product roadmap that addresses clear business goals.
• Leading cross-functional product development team.
• Overseeing the product development lifecycle, from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Being the voice of the customer for internal teams while also understanding the needs of our patients and company’s business requirements.
• Comprehending the regulatory environment that Karius operates in and ensuring that all systems meet or exceed these external requirements.
• Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and trends.
• Defining product requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
• Creating release notes and training materials as required for internal teams.

Physical Requirements
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in a related field such as Biology/Medicine, a Master’s or PhD Degree in the sciences strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct product management experience in the molecular diagnostics space.
• Ability to translate and articulate complicated business problems into easily understood solutions and functional requirements.
• Experience with Smartsheets, Jira, and Confluence.
• Proven leadership capabilities including strategy development, effective decision making, and the ability to drive results.
• Familiarity with the US healthcare system, CLIA, HIPAA, and CAP is preferred but not required.
• Proven experience with In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) products, including but not limited to instrumentation and kitting to market.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and customer journey mapping.
• Strong understanding of the IVD market, including regulatory requirements and industry trends.
