About the Role:
The Customer Education team at Planet is seeking a working student to help build our developer relations documentation that helps our customers and our strategic partners to best engage with and get the most out of our products and services. This role will work closely with engineers, product managers, Customer Success, Professional Services and other writers at Planet. We’re passionate about creating the best documentation resources for our customers.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Create, maintain and improve our technical documentation: product documentation, imagery specifications, partner technology enablement deliverables, user manuals, and guides, etc.
- Be the first “customer,” providing technical feedback on new features and experiences
- Manage the creation and updates to existing materials for ongoing product releases
- Assist in customer-focused content strategy development and execution
- Partner closely with engineering, product, customer success and technical support teams along the way
- Work with customers and go-to-market teams to gather feedback and improve documentation
- Track and report on content performance against customer goals using key metrics
- Help ideate and iterate our developer outreach strategy on Planet Community, the Developer Center and Documentation site
What You Bring:
- Experience writing and publishing for developer and technical audiences, including blogs, product documentation, technical information, and wikis
- Experience designing, planning, and delivering content projects
- Experience working on or closely with software development teams
- Experience working with Markdown-based documentation systems
- Experience working with GitHub or a similar distributed version control system
- Familiarity with creating developer content (Jupyter notebooks, documentation, etc.)
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Familiarity with GIS and remote sensing systems
- Experience working with earth observation, earth imaging organizations
- Experience working with JavaScript, React, Gatsby, and/or Python
- Front-End development experience
