DevOps Engineer

Skylo Technologies is hiring a DevOps Engineer. This person will play a key role in creating and optimising the Skylo’s Cloud software infrastructure. The right candidate will combine a depth of technical knowledge with a passion for creating best-in class software infrastructure solutions.

Location: Espoo, Finland or Bangalore, India

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines tailored to Skylo Cloud software development environment
  • Ensure the seamless integration of software changes into the infrastructure
  • Automate operational processes related to network management, provisioning, and configuration
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve overall efficiency
  • Ensure that changes to the Skylo network are version-controlled and reproducible
  • Collaborate with network engineers to automate and manage network configurations using tools like Ansible, Terraform or Puppet
  • Set up monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of both software applications and network infrastructure
  • Respond to incidents promptly, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive measures to minimise service disruptions
  • Implement and enforce security best practices in both software development and deployment
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, addressing security concerns proactively
  • Collaborate with telecom engineers, software developers, and other cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance collaboration
  • Inculcate accountability and ownership within the team - YBYO (You build it, you own it!) by promoting robust design, development and documentation practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in the telecom and software industry
  • Familiarity with telecom network protocols, technologies, and architectures
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python or Ruby
  • Experience with test automation frameworks like RobotFramework
  • Experience with telecom-specific tools and technologies
  • Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies relevant to the telecom industry
  • Experience with network configuration management tools
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in both software and telecom infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. GCP) and knowledge of telecom services in a cloud environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with cross-functional teams
  • Relevant certifications in DevOps, networking and telecom technologies (e.g. Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer (GCP)
