About Skylo
Skylo is helping redefine how the world stays connected. At Skylo, our mission is to extend reliable connectivity to people, vehicles, and devices wherever they operate, even in the most remote and hard-to-reach places.
Skylo is a global connectivity company serving customers and partners worldwide. We enable satellite-based connectivity for everyday devices, helping smartphones, vehicles, and machines stay connected beyond traditional cellular coverage. Today, Skylo’s services are live on millions of devices across five continents, supporting use cases across consumer devices, automotive, and industrial sectors.
This role is located in Bangalore, India , following a hybrid working arrangement, where we are onsite at least 3 days a week in the office.
Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo
Skylo is looking for a hands-on professional for the end-to-end Clearing and Settlement process. This is a high-impact role that understands the "bits and bytes" of telecom billing. You will be the primary technical interface between Skylo’s Core Network and global MNO billing departments, Data Clearing Houses (DCH), and Financial Clearing Houses (FCH). Your mission: Ensure 100% data integrity from the satellite air interface to the final financial settlement
What the role will look like - Core Responsibilities
- DCH/FCH & MNO Technical Management
- Onboarding & Interconnect: Lead the technical setup with DCH/FCH partners (e.g., Syniverse, Comfone, Tomia). Manage the end-to-end testing of TAP/BCE file exchanges.
- MNO Billing Alignment: Direct interaction with MNO wholesale billing teams to align on rating, rounding rules, and currency conversion logic.
- IREG/TADIG Coordination: Drive the technical billing validation phase of roaming launches to ensure Skylo meets all GSMA settlement standards.
- Understanding of GSMA Member gateway and should be comfortable with creating RAEX IoT + OP Data
2. Protocol Implementation (TAP & BCE)
- Standardisation: Own the implementation of TAP3 (Transferred Account Procedure) and the transition/dual-run strategy for BCE (Billing and Charging Evolution).
- Compliance: Ensure all settlement processes comply with GSMA PRDs (TD.57 for TAP, TD.201/202 for BCE).
- Rating Logic: Configure and validate complex wholesale rating structures (SDR/Data/IoT-specific) within the clearing environment.
3. CDR & Data Integrity (The "Deep Dive")
- Mediation Flow: Audit the flow of CDRs (Call Detail Records) and IPDRs from the Core Network (EPC/5GC) to the Billing Mediation layer.
- Error Handling: Own the RAP (Return Account Procedure) process. Analyse rejected files, identify root causes in the network or mediation layer, and resubmit corrected records.
- Leakage Prevention: Implement automated reconciliation tools to identify discrepancies between network usage and billed usage.
4. Dispute Resolution & Reconciliation
- Financial Integrity: Conduct monthly technical reconciliations between DCH reports and Skylo’s internal network logs.
- Dispute Management: Lead the technical defence in billing disputes with MNOs. Use packet-level or CDR-level evidence to resolve under-billing or over-billing claims.
- Process Optimisation: Continuously refine the "Order-to-Cash" technical workflow to reduce settlement cycles
What We Look For
- Industry Deep-Dive: 10+ years of experience specifically within a DCH/FCH, an MNO Wholesale Billing team, or a Roaming Vendor.
- Protocol Expert: Absolute mastery of TAP RAP and BCE standards. You should understand the structure of these files at a granular level.
- Data Fluency: Advanced SQL skills and experience with data analysis tools (Python/Excel/Tableau) to perform forensic audits on massive CDR datasets.
- Network Literacy: You must understand how a 4G/5G call flow generates specific charging triggers (S-GW/P-GW) and how those triggers map to billing records.
- "The Fixer": A track record of identifying and fixing "broken" billing flows in complex international roaming environments.
