The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Collections Center of Excellence (CCE) team that has developed strong partnerships and working relationships with other key functional areas. The Risk Strategy Execution Lead of Collections and Recovery Policy and Treatment is a critical role that will lead the execution of all strategies Pre Charge Off and Recovery. This individual will bring new ways of thinking, data sources, technologies, and capabilities to SoFi. This individual will serve as the voice of CCOE for our Consumer Lending products and technology teams in pursuit of a best-in-class Collections & Recovery Policy and Treatment.
The ideal candidate will serve as a lead to own risk policies and act as a liaison between Product, Engineering and Decision engine teams in developing requirements while maintaining safe and sound business practices
This individual will bring new ways of thinking, data sources, technologies, and capabilities to SoFi. They must also bring strong collections industry knowledge.
What you will be doing:
Leading the execution of Collections risk strategy changes including developing requirements, impact assessments, test cases and validation. Evaluate, prioritize and sequence business capabilities for implementation
Ensure strategy changes meet objectives and raise awareness of issues in a timely manner
Lead Risk execution responsibility across several strategies for revolving and non revolving consumer products
Partner with Risk, Operations, Product Owners, Legal/Compliance and other impacted groups to understand business needs, cross business impacts and overall awareness of strategy changes
Track record of positively influencing change, delivering business results, and providing creative solutions for business challenges
Document current state workflows and develop end to end futures state workflows
Conduct gap analysis to identify, design, document and implement solutions to improve business outcomes and deliver consumer-centric solutions
Define requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for new systems and tools
Partner with engineering teams to build and deploy new systems/tools while ensuring business needs are met
Organize, develop and coordinate comprehensive end-to-end test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Collaborate across team to support implementation / go live of new features/capabilities
Partner to establish: processes, procedures, training and communications
What you'll need:
Bachelor's Degree in business or technical field
3+ years of a leadership role in Credit Risk , Collections and Recovery and/or Lending
3+ years of experience as a business analyst and/or Risk strategy & Execution
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Track record of successfully working with business to understand business needs and define/document solutions
Exemplary problem solving skills
Demonstrates a strong bias for action
Ability to be agile; Comfortable with change and continuous improvements
Outstanding time management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks while remaining self-directed and detail oriented
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team on multiple tasks and assignments
Structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them
Synthesize complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods
Consumer / Client centric focus
Excellent MS Office / Google Suite skills
Agile experience, preferred
Management consulting experience a plus
Financial, payment experience, preferred
