The role:

This role will provide cross-functional and cross-risk experience. The position involves a significant amount of interaction with senior management and involvement in a variety of the critical strategic projects within SoFi.

What you'll do:

  • Planning and tracking SoFi Compliance driven projects, programs and internal initiatives, working with various teams to support the continued enhancements to the Compliance Management framework and execution of key governance responsibilities.

  • Further aligns the Compliance department with the company's risk profile to ensure risks are identified, measured, monitored and reported appropriately

  • Holds the Compliance department accountable to meeting the standards set forth in Compliance policies through weekly reporting

  • Coordinate team meetings, facilitate compliance risk prioritizations, and ensure that the tools and technology needed to efficiently and effectively demonstrate credible second-line challenges are properly specified and prioritized.

  • Design and manage strategies for SoFi’s compliance management program to prioritize risks and projects for the Senior Vice President and other leaders

  • Conducts and coordinates workshops throughout the department to identify compliance risks, identify opportunities for creating value, and prioritize risks associated with achieving organizational goals

  • Develop foresight capabilities by keeping abreast with trend/industry events, future developments, key competitors’ move, significant change in regulations

  • Proactively coordinates meetings as necessary with clearly set agendas while not becoming an impediment to the team’s productivity

  • Seeks to overcome project obstacles by suggesting creative solutions

  • Develops detailed deployment plans using predefined templates and leads the team in the execution of them

  • Track all policy obligations of SoFi Compliance to ensure compliance

  • Drive the successful and timely completion of key initiatives, ensuring consistency, proper engagement and timely completion of deliverables and artifacts across all teams

  • Develop presentations and materials for senior management, governance and external regulatory meetings

What you need:

  • 6-10 years of professional experience in project or program management with Risk Management at a bank

  • Previous compliance, AML and regulatory, business analyst or project management experience at a mid to large financial institution, preferred

  • Analytical capabilities to review data and events, and identify areas of risk

  • Relationship building / management throughout the project life cycle with Compliance partners and any involved LOBs

  • Flexible and dynamic – quickly adapt to changing needs of the department

  • Proactive, motivated, and energetic

  • Experience in GRC management strongly preferred

  • Must be capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competence in portraying complex content in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders to successfully implement and deliver change and risk mitigation

  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills

  • Proficiency in Google products

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
