The role:

The Valuation Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of the SoFi Credit Card business with a focus on leading the development and ongoing monitoring of account level Valuation, vintage profitability, and targeting strategy optimization. In this role, you will need experience and understanding of the following functions: Product, Segmentation, Credit, Economics, Analytics, and Modeling.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain the central perspective of prospect & member-level card economics using on-us and off-us data dimensioned across a suite of segments and machine-learning targeting models

  • Lead management of Valuation assumptions fed into the monthly targeting strategy and campaign optimization process for new account originations

  • Design and oversee analytics to track vintage-level performance of granular microsegment level account Valuations

  • Manage quarterly Valuation model monitoring governance process to validate go-forward assumptions against historical vintage trends

  • Monitor test and learn strategy results for Valuation assumption impacts when Challenger strategies replace Champion core roll-out strategies

  • Own the analytics and communication of vintage value and projected economics on the new vintage originations

  • Leverage tools such as Python, VBA, and Excel to develop a technical infrastructure that enables speed and flexibility to manage a multitude of scenarios and updates to Valuation assumptions across a complex financial model architecture

  • Collaborate and partner with Credit Risk, Marketing, Product, Pricing, Finance, & Data Science to incorporate cross-functional perspectives into new account Valuations and maintain alignment on impacts to overall targeting strategy and financial planning process

  • Comfortable managing third-party resources to support ad-hoc technical infrastructure development and design

What you’ll need:

  • Typically requires 3+ years of credit card acquisitions experience in at least one of the following functional areas: valuations, credit risk, strategic business analytics

  • A high level of expertise with SQL and Excel, and interest in learning or overseeing analytics leveraging Python

  • The candidate should be capable of merging and transforming large analytical datasets to perform complex analysis and extract applicable insights to inform business strategy

  • An intuitive understanding of the economic drivers of profitability and performance in unsecured credit as well as a strong foundation of knowledge in financial analysis and analytical methodologies

  • Advanced ability to solve problems creatively, objectively consider multiple points of view, and be capable of synthesizing complexity into a simple recommended approach or perspective

  • Self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended problems

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • High degree of initiative with a strong drive for results

  • BS or MS in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or similar quantitative analytical field

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
