We are in an exciting phase as we rethink our app, overall strategy, and the technology. The work happening within the Platform organization is critical to our product experience, creating frameworks and key functionality that impact how our SoFi product ecosystem works. This includes solving for how we communicate & personalize the member experience, how we ensure safety and trust, and how we enable our members to get help in a timely manner, regardless of what products that member uses.
As part of the next phase of our growth, we are looking for a Senior Staff Product Designer to shape the foundation of our products that will enable teams to build robust, safe and cohesive member-facing experiences. At this level, you’re considered a leader in the design organization so you’ll have responsibility to help influence and mature the Design Organization. This includes coordinating with designers across product areas to align with the larger SoFi ecosystem and acting as mentor to various designers in the organization. In addition you will work closely with research, product and engineering teams to build a world-class member experience.

Responsibilities:
- Design product features from start-to-finish, from the early sketching and concept phases to final pixel-perfect Figma files that are ready to ship
- Work closely with the Design Manager, Research, Product Management, and Engineering partners and be able to quickly iterate based on feedback
- Develop user-centered design solutions based on research, member insights, and industry best-practices
- Present design concepts and user journey mapping, and clearly communicate design intent through detailed specs and presentation documents
- Collaborate with other product designers working on other projects to drive alignment and consistency across the entire user experience
- Mentor and grow the team.
Qualification and experience
- 12+ yrs experience of experience working in product design/UX roles
- Strong design point of view, craft and aesthetics across all common platforms (Android, iOS, & Responsive Web)
- Track record for leadership -- delivering end to end solutions from initial concepts to measurable outcomes
- Strong collaboration & influence skills across cross-functional teams including research, product management, engineering and marketing
- Ability to leverage user research, user needs and product data to inform product definition and design solutions.
- Ability to navigate and manage senior leadership, representing design perspective and advocating for user needs in the context of business and technology drivers
- Strong expertise in common design tools (ie Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc)
- Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira and Confluence
- A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design

- Experience working on mobile-first financial products
- Experience working on consumer engagement, growth, and/or social experiences
- Experience working with remote teams and stakeholders
