The Role:

To further optimize our cloud infrastructure, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager to lead Cloud Efficiency initiatives that enhance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of our cloud-based systems. You will lead a team building tools and processes to enhance efficiency in how we use all cloud infrastructure impacting every engineering team at SoFi. You will have opportunities to make a significant immediate impact on the success of the company while growing the team and members of the team. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for optimizing cloud efficiency and a proven track record in managing cloud-based systems, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to optimize cloud infrastructure for efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align cloud efficiency strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Build and inspire a team of cloud engineers, engineers, and specialists dedicated to maximizing the efficiency of our cloud environment.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration with the cloud efficiency team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud expenses, providing recommendations for cost saving measures.
  • Optimize resource utilization by implementing best practices for resource provisioning, allocation, and de-provisioning.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance automation and streamline cloud workflows.
  • Establish robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track cloud efficiency metrics.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to leadership on the impact of efficiency initiatives.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools.
  • 6+ years of proven experience as a Software Development Manager or similar technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading software development teams, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role focussed on optimizing cloud efficiency is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
