The Role:
SoFi’s Core Mobile team is looking for a Staff Engineer with proven technical abilities and a strong intuition for product quality. In this role, you will directly impact the architecture of our frontend systems to enable simple and consistent developer experiences across the company. You’ll work autonomously on interesting problems within a dynamic and collaborative organization. The ideal candidate is comfortable working cross-functionally to improve both technical and organizational patterns.
What you’ll do:
- Improve core mobile development for all product teams at SoFi
- Propose and implement API strategies for frontend/backend communication
- Architect flexible, performant and reusable UI components that satisfy the requirements of multiple teams
- Collaborate with UX designers to deliver high quality user experiences
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, deliverables, and goals
- Independently resolve ambiguous problems to produce timely results
- Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders and business leadership
- Define best practices and uphold rigorous coding standards
- Demonstrate and maintain deep technical knowledge in Flutter and mobile development, as well as broad knowledge about infrastructure and API design
- Mentor other engineers, support SoFi’s technical culture, and help grow the team
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science Degree or equivalent from a fully-accredited college or university
- 6+ years mobile programming experience including Flutter
- Git-based distributed version control systems
- Agile-based project development in a microservices environment
- Work and play well with others; SoFi is a collaborative environment
- Passion for solving complex problems
- Demonstrable history of high quality mobile app development
