The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Consumer and Product Communications to join our marketing team at SoFi. This role is pivotal in helping build our brand into a household name. As a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in managing innovative consumer brands, you will be instrumental in leveraging diverse media opportunities to enhance brand visibility and reach.

As the Director of Consumer and Product Communications you will work to find the intersection of major product and campaign moments for SoFi will pop culture trends and earned opportunities. You will bring together our brand, product marketing, social, and creative teams to build earned moments that drive conversation around our brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for consumer and product initiatives, ensuring alignment with SoFi’s mission and business objectives.
  • Leverage earned media opportunities effectively to build brand awareness and extend reach.
  • Utilize data-driven insights for storytelling, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with our target audience.
  • Employ robust measurement techniques to assess the impact of communication strategies and adjust tactics accordingly.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the current media ecosystem, including broadcast, print, social media, influencers, and AI, and utilize these platforms to maximize brand exposure.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior-level executives, providing insights and recommendations on communication strategies.
  • Collaborate effectively within a highly matrixed organization, working alongside various teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and strategy.
  • Bridge the gap between strategic planning and execution, ensuring seamless implementation of communication initiatives within a creative marketing framework.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably in consumer-facing brands.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence others
  • Proven track record of leveraging earned media to enhance brand visibility and reach.
  • Strong relationships with reporters, editors, and producers with a focus on broadcast
  • Strong understanding of data analytics in communications, from storytelling to impact measurement.
  • Extensive knowledge of today’s diverse media landscape, including traditional and digital platforms.
  • Exceptional ability to work as a strategic partner to senior executives.
  • Experience in working within complex, matrixed organizations and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
