The role:
SoFi is hiring an experienced Project Manager to join our Operations Project Management Office. 50% of this position is allocated to support the SoFi Mortgage Operations Team and the remaining 50% will support strategic Operations Enablement projects. The Operations PMO ensures Member Engagement teams are equipped with the most efficient tools, technology, and processes to best serve our Members. We plan, coordinate, and implement operational impacting projects (programs, policies, products, tools, and technology). The successful candidate will work directly with Business Owners, Vendors, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations to ensure projects fall within established timelines and scope. They will manage and direct the implementation of small to large projects that require the definition, development, delivery, and deployment of solutions that meet stakeholder needs and are compatible with business drivers.
What you’ll do:
- Leverage strong project management experience to define scope, facilitate requirements, execute projects, proactively resolve blockers, and add value
- Manage/engage with multiple projects concurrently while ensuring all project artifacts and operational readiness activities are addressed
- Provide a single point of contact for our business partners on assigned projects
- Work with internal customers to clearly define and document end to end requirements & testing plans
- Scope projects and develop implementation project plans with measurable project goals, objectives, tasks, and timelines, and monitor progress toward achievement
- Ensure consistent project management, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, while prioritizing member/agent experience and driving business goals
- Establish and conduct meetings to communicate expectations, project roles, status updates, track open issues, and work with stakeholders to resolve issues as required
- Identify and manage project dependencies, risk mitigation, critical path items, and follow appropriate methodologies
- Maintain excellent communication with all levels of management, be responsive to customers, and provide appropriate training and cross training to other team members
What you’ll need:
- The ideal candidate is extremely organized, an excellent communicator, and a strategic thinker who can execute in a fast-paced environment
- Lending systems knowledge should include loan origination, loan servicing, credit decisioning, and compliance reporting
- Familiarity with Operations servicing channels and agent tools including but not limited to CRM, Phone, IVR, Chat, and SMS
- Familiarly with end to end mortgage, originations, fulfillment, and servicing a plus
- Able to navigate multiple unique business functions successfully
- Must be able to effectively network and build partnerships in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to react to change quickly and implement new processes & procedures
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to write and communicate clearly to internal stakeholders and vendors
- Proficient with financial reports, business intelligence tools, and workflow design
- Capable of grasping and utilizing complex ideas and strategies
- Professional demeanor and excellent work habits are essential
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, technology or a related field
- 3+ years project management or operational management experience; preferably within mortgage or banking industries
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience within a financial services environment
- PMP, CAPM, or SCM certification is preferred
