The role:
At SoFi, we offer complimentary access to financial planners to all of our members. As a senior financial planner, you will be a salaried fiduciary focused on helping our members get their money right. This is not a sales-based role and you are not responsible for generating appointments. This role is all about understanding the member’s current financial situation and goals; and helping develop actionable recommendations to help them achieve their goals.
What you’ll do:
- Work directly with our members via videoconference, phone, and email
- Guide members through SoFi’s unique planning experience that will address everything from modular advice (i.e. best way to pay down debt) to comprehensive financial planning.
- Develop specific recommendations based on the member’s unique circumstances and SoFi’s house views on planning topics.
- Present specific recommendations to the member that includes their next best action, whether it relates to a SoFi product or not.
- Collaborate with team members to leverage member feedback and industry knowledge to refine our planning experience (we are big on continual improvement).
What you’ll need:
- 3+ years of experience of providing tailored financial recommendations to people
- Knowledge of key financial planning and investment concepts
- Member first mindset- our planners are salaried fiduciaries
- Licenses: Series 7 and 65
- Credentials: CFP® designation
- Must be computer literate with the ability to talk and type
- Great telephone skills including communicating clearly and effectively
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems / applications / workflows.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
Nice to have:
- Experience using Right Capital
- A good understanding of student loans, debt products, credit, and home buying
- Ability to give presentations to large audiences or develop written content that can communicate complex financial topics in an easy to understand manner
