The role:
As the Director of Sales for the Home Loans Division at SoFi Bank, NA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of our Mortgage Business Unit. You'll oversee a team of Production Managers, a Mortgage Coach and likely a few Production Assistants as well, all of who are focused on growing SoFi’s Mortgage business. A vital part of your job is to ensure that loan origination is efficient and accurate through implementing sales strategies, identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives, and aligning staff duties with business goals. This leadership position offers an exciting opportunity to drive revenue, foster a high-performance sales team across multiple SoFi office locations, and contribute to the bank's overall strategic goals.
What you’ll do:
- Sales Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for the Mortgage Home Loan Division’s sales team, ensuring consistent revenue growth and expansion
- Team Management: Hire, oversee, mentor, and develop a team of mortgage loan officers and Production Managers, setting clear objectives and performance targets. Develop and maintain an engaged and high-performing team, managing people matters with expertise and care.
- Partnership: Partnering with the Home Equity Sales leader to ensure Mortgage & Home Equity follow similar policies, procedures and routines where needed, and are explicitly different where appropriate.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of the sales team and drive continuous improvement
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership, sharing insights into the Home Loan Division’s performance and progress toward goals
- Sales Strategy: Contribute to developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies, identifying market opportunities, and optimizing sales processes to achieve targets
- Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of mortgage products, lending guidelines, and industry trends to support the sales team in providing superior customer service and effective solutions
- Compliance: Ensure that the Home Loans Division operates within all applicable regulatory and compliance guidelines, minimizing risk and ensuring a high level of safety and soundness
- Collaboration with Cross Functional Partners: Collaborate with cross functional partners, such as marketing and EPD, to ensure a smooth and efficient sales process, including the development and implementation of effective sales campaigns and strategies
What you’ll need:
- 15+ years of experience in home loans sales or mortgage loan sales
- Understanding of processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing processes
- Prior experience managing sales managers for Home Loans or residential lending products
- Experience sourcing business through open market leveraging different channels
- Demonstrated ability to guide production managers to leading teams that fulfill lead development.
- Ability to implement & develop sales activities to achieve HL goals.
- Knowledge of executing all sales planning and overseeing target allocation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner across a matrixed organization
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of real estate law and government regulations pertaining to residential mortgage
- Proven experience in leveraging marketing and data science expertise to develop and implement data-driven strategies for monitoring and marketing to a client base, resulting in the generation of high-potential leads within the financial services sector
