We are hiring an exceptional Director of Business Development and Partnerships to join our Go-to-Market team, and to form and manage strategic engagements with industry partners in order to accelerate our ideation processes and actual sales of our fintech portfolio companies.

Business Development has a critical role in the execution of Team8’s portfolio companies’ and ideation roadmap. The right candidate will work with our portfolio companies to advance sales, as well as support their partnership efforts, by creating new relationships and by leveraging Team8’s extensive network of strategic fintech relationships.

The right candidate should be able to execute multiple complex outreach projects simultaneously, with a proven track record in ROI-driven business development and strategic partnerships.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting platforms in the VC and fintech ecosystem. You will work alongside leading investors and operators to influence the creation of new fintech ventures and act as the business development arm of multiple innovative startups at their most impactful stage.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help drive the success of Team8 Fintech’s portfolio companies by creating and defining an ever-growing ecosystem of industry players who will become potential design partners, customers, advisors, and validators.
  • Advise on, and help execute, go-to-market efforts for our portfolio companies.
  • Segment, target, and develop a network of deep corporate relationships to understand their business challenges, source company-building and partnership opportunities, and support the growth of Team8 and our portfolio of fintech companies.
  • Play a crucial role in the validation process of new company-building and investing opportunities
  • Develop long-term relationships with portfolio companies and foster impactful partnerships and deals through introductions, meetings, corporate briefings, events, and conferences.
  • Source, form, and foster strategic alliances to help build Team8 Fintech’s position and access to key industry players and talent
  • Capture, track, and analyze all business development activities within the CRM system, turning engagements into insights and measurable actions.
  • Collaborate with other functional groups within Team8, including managing partners, research, marketing, and additional business development activities.

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the fintech startup, financial services, and/or venture capital ecosystem
  • Solid experience interfacing with C-level executives
  • Deep knowledge, understanding, and passion for fintech innovation
  • Outstanding knowledge of the complexities of selling into banks and fintech
  • Proven track record of success closing deals and developing long-term relationships at senior leadership levels
  • Experience outbounding, forming, and leading commercial/partnership engagements with global enterprises.
  • Analytical and tech-savvy (spreadsheets, reports, CRM systems).
  • Ability to identify needs and emerging trends in the industry and effectively articulate these insights with relevant internal partners.
  • Creative, but also process and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, executive presence, and high attention to detail.
  • Advantages: Enterprise sales background; startup ecosystem familiarity; experience working with fast-paced technology organizations.

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $170,000-$200,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in Team8’s carry program and various benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, 401k match, vacation, and sick leave.
