The Team
FP&A is a small, highly visible team that partners with senior leadership to ensure that sound financial decisions are made for TuneIn to achieve financial performance against the company’s goals. The team has a large financial scope and breadth of business partners. As such, our team is continually optimizing the financial infrastructure and processes required to scale the growth of our company.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, FP&A to be a strategic business partner and focus on forecasting, budgeting, data visualization, and financial/key metrics reporting.
The Senior Manager, FP&A is a part of the FP&A team that provides cross-functional support, collaborating with internal partners from across the organization. Through these collaborative efforts, this role will be responsible for providing stakeholders with visibility into key business drivers, supporting decision-making, and helping drive process efficiency while driving core FP&A activities such as forecasting, budgeting, reporting, ad-hoc analysis, etc.
The ideal candidate is someone with demonstrated experience with one or both of our key sources of revenue - consumer subscriptions and the sale of audio and display advertising. On the cost side, one of our key cost drivers is the content licensing of news, sports, and music content. At the very least, the successful candidate will be able to develop a deep knowledge of the company’s drivers and business model while also demonstrating the ability to shift to a more strategic line of thinking and communicate the story of our financial results and performance with clarity to diverse audiences.
A proactive, self-motivated individual with a keen eye for process improvement and the initiative to take action will thrive in this role. Being able to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth entrepreneurial environment is a must. Equally important is the ability to develop relationships and motivate teams to drive towards the achievement of lofty goals and you will play an important role in providing thought partnership and decision support to many new initiatives. This role reports to the VP of FP&A.
Scope of Work
- Report to the VP, FP&A and serve as a key resource to other senior leaders across TuneIn
- Potential collaboration with the content team for performance analysis and prospective deal modeling
- Monitor, report, and present the financial and operational performance of multiple business units against the plan on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis in collaboration with key business leaders
- Provide insightful analysis to highlight variance drivers and identify opportunities to mitigate risk / improve performance
- Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, standardize, and automate forecasting and reporting tools and processes
- Actively participate in annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting processes with a specific focus on one or more of our lines of business.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with key business leaders across the organization, present results and trends, and synthesize complex data into actionable insights for decision-makers
- Prepare, hold, and present business reviews for leaders focused on the story (not just data) with clear insights and presentation materials
- Drive results by partnering on business-related projects such as modeling business scenarios and tracking performance metrics
- Provide additional ad hoc analysis as needed, acting as a strategic partner to the decision makers, develop expertise across the organization and provide clear guidance on how to evaluate the financial and strategic merits of numerous investment opportunities for sustainable growth
- Partner with other groups in the Finance organization including Accounting and Investor Relations
- Work with the accounting team to identify areas for efficiency and assist in the monthly close process as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, or a similar discipline
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A or similar roles in a high-growth environment partnering with business leaders to provide financial support
- 2+ years of investment banking experience
- Experience with advertising, subscription, or SaaS financial models is a plus
Skills & Technical Abilities
- Demonstrated excellence in financial modeling and analytical skills, using key tools within Microsoft Office and G-Suite
- Strong presentation skills and ability to share financial results visually and verbally
- Significant attention to detail and demonstration of critical thinking, with an ability to develop a compelling story using strong verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while meeting urgent deadlines
- Knowledge of SQL is a plus
- Prior experience with PowerBI, Mode, Netsuite, or similar tools is a plus

TuneIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. To determine your compensation, we take a market-based approach, meaning pay may vary depending on your location, and we also carefully consider several factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, and professional experience.
The expected starting salary for this position ranges from $165,000 in our lowest geographic market up to $194,000 in our highest geographic market and may be modified in the future.
The compensation package also includes a wide range of medical plans, a flexible PTO policy, parental leave, various stipends, and other benefits listed above, as well as an attractive equity package.
