About The RoleThe People Experience and Operations team ensures that our global employee population has a phenomenal experience at Uber. From onboarding onwards, we’re the crossroad between the different people teams. The generalists who know the answers to employee questions, and if not, how to connect people who do. We are based around the world and take care of the employee experience and improve our people systems and processes, thinking globally and acting locally to ensure employees across Uber can focus on the work they were hired to do.We’re looking for a People Operations Intern to support our employee population in the EMEA region, primarily looking after the Netherlands. Someone who is passionate about finding the best ways to support our growing employee base. You will focus on supporting our managers and employees with inquiries along with the People Ops administration tied to these topics. You will support continuous improvement projects for example within content or overall experience for new and existing employees. This allows you to build your analytical, problem solving, and process thinking skills whilst having an impact on how our employees experience their time at Uber.This internship is a great opportunity to explore a variety of ‘Employee Life Cycles’ (e.g. onboarding, offboarding, etc.) and engage with different specialist functions (e.g. Benefits, Compensation, HR Generalist, Payroll etc). What You’ll Do
  • Maintain and update data within our HR System (Workday) ensuring a high degree of accuracy
  • Provide high-quality support to employees by responding to questions and raising issues as needed
  • Manage verification of employment letters, medical health checks, and other compliance-related matters with local legislation
  • Learn to support the integrity of our data by running regular audits and reporting
  • Manage vital interactions and coordination with employees, managers, HR stakeholder teams, and external stakeholders on a regular basis for issues and processes around employment
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects within the People Operations Team and other administrative tasks
Basic Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a relevant field for the full duration of the internship
  • Available to start on August 21st, 2023 and work full-time for 6 months
  • Work authorization in the Netherlands - No visa sponsorship is available for internships
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior internship working in a startup, tech company, or any kind of internship related to People Ops is a plus
  • Bonus points for proficiency in Dutch and/or any other language
  • Studies in Business or Human Resources
