About The Role
You will need to manage the market and team while scaling operational and commercial activities to ensure we stay customer-obsessed with our merchants and operationally best in-class. This role establishes and drives the strategy: making commercial decisions and investments to help grow street by street and geo by geo. You will be responsible for the three sided marketplace, and partner closely with other teams (including other Northeast Managers, Strategic Operations, Enterprise, Ads, Community Operations, and Marketing) to ensure we are delivering the best experience to all sides of the marketplace.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time. For Boston, MA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $162,000 per year - $180,000 per year.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year.

What You'll Do
- Lead team of commercial managers and individual contributors (Account Managers, Sellers, Sales Managers) to drive commercial strategy and priorities
- Develop local expertise of merchant, courier, and eater supply and demand within a large or complex geo
- Make decisions to provide the best selection and experience within your territory
- Own performance of all sides of the market (merchant, courier, and eater) and achieve financial (growth & profitability) targets
- Build vision and strategy for winning market share in your city
- Develop strategic partnerships and lead major commercial negotiations
- Contribute and actively participate as a key member of the Territory Leadership Team
- Track performance and manipulate data to derive useful insights
- Communicate findings to cross functional teams and leadership
- Grow and develop talent within the team with a specific focus on building capabilities and supporting the next generation of leadership
- 6+ years of work experience across operations, sales, account management
- People leadership experience
- An entrepreneurial attitude, passion for building things, working towards a shared goal, and ownership of outcomes
- Proven experience developing strategic partnerships and leading commercial negotiations
- Ability to distill complex data sets into simple and digestible takeaways for senior leaders and managers
- Experience working closely and communicating effectively with diverse set of partners in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment
- 7+ years of work experience across operations, sales, account management
- Disciplined organizational and project management skills - you’ll need to prioritize and manage hundreds of ongoing processes and projects simultaneously
- Creative approach that enjoys experimentation and is willing to take bold bets despite risk of failure
- Experience inspiring, mentoring and supporting the growth of employees through inclusive and inspirational leadership
- Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
- Outstanding Excel / SQL / data management skills
