About The RoleWith New Verticals, we're building Uber's fastest growing, and our next 10-10, business. Global in scope, with a focus on our largest potential grocery, convenience and other new verticals markets, the team is responsible for all grocery and new verticals operations/sales/strategy across markets.This nimble and high performing team is tasked with building a sustainable high growth business as we expand from restaurants to other high growth verticals. This is an intense startup-within-a-much-larger-startup role, and this person will work across multiple disciplines to provide critical leadership on key sales and business development initiatives that allow us to scale. Your Impact In Role
  • Work with GM to drive the overall strategy and growth for the New verticals business in Japan
  • Build the future of the New Verticals function in Japan, from helping shape our Sales organization, to prioritizing key brands, to supporting expansion into new markets
  • Engage with C-level executives of new and existing brands
  • Meet / exceed monthly team revenue quotas
  • Bring new innovative products & tech solutions to market
  • Implement strategic territory forecasting and planning
  • Excel in hands-on training, coaching and team development
  • Recruit, interview and hire prospective team members
  • Develop a high-performing team culture
  • Be an industry influencer and ambassador of quick delivery
The Experience You’ll Bring
  • At least 4 years of sales management and/or general management experience
  • At least 10 years of sales experience in a high-growth corporate sales, business development, management consulting, private equity or similar role
  • Proven ability to develop people and teams
  • Data-driven decision making mentality & sound business judgment
  • High degree of adaptability; Uber's high growth means frequent change for teams
  • Ability to tackle diverse challenges and utilize internal/external resources/network when needed
  • High standards for yourself and your team's performance
  • Exemplary communication and organizational skills
  • Previous experience with Salesforce or other CRM/Sales tools
  • Native-level Japanese, business level English
  • Bonus point if you have an extended network and prior experience in Japan's Food Retail industry
