About the role and team
Leading Business Development at Uber means setting direction in motion and building high-performing teams in high-stakes, ambiguous environments. You will be responsible for shaping the strategic partnership roadmap to scale the Uber platform, making hard calls under pressure, and carrying the weight of decisions that directly impact our growth. This isn't about following a corporate script; it’s about navigating the messy reality of doing big things and finding the right partners to move the real world.
Success in this role requires more than just deal-making skills—it requires a leadership mindset. You will need to stay steady through constant change, lead through influence rather than control, and be energized by the challenge of solving complex problems at a global scale. If you are a motivational leader who thrives on ownership and is ready to bridge the digital and real worlds, this is where you’ll make your mark.
What you’ll do
- Lead and support the end-to-end strategic partnership process, from initial engagement with C-level executives to contract negotiation and post-launch implementation.
- Navigate internal complexity and ambiguity to unlock value, collaborating across operations, product, legal, and engineering to bring first-of-their-kind partnerships to life.
- Manage and coach a team of business developers, setting clear expectations and actionable plans while fostering a culture of accountability and risk-taking.
- Identify and pursue high-impact prospects, communicating a clear value proposition that aligns with Uber’s mission and the partner's business goals.
- Drive individual and team performance by creating measurable goals aligned with national business strategies, remaining resilient through tough negotiations and shifting priorities.
- Execute on top partnership opportunities by leveraging product and technology solutions, ensuring that every deal balances short-term wins with long-term sustainability.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience leading complex deals and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience building and maintaining strategic relationships with C-level stakeholders at large-scale companies.
- Proven ability to fuse business, finance, and legal concepts to lead multidimensional negotiations.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA or JD) with a focus on business strategy or corporate law.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
- Strong commercial coaching skills with a track record of up-leveling the skills of a Business Development organization.
- Deep domain expertise in the tech, consumer-facing digital services, or telecommunications industries.
