Groceries & Retail Account Manager
Sales & Business Development
Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile
About the role and team
As we scale our Grocery and Retail business, we are looking for an Account Strategist to lead our partnership with one of our strategic retailers. You will be responsible for translating our global vision into a merchant-specific strategy, focusing on operational excellence and high-impact growth initiatives to improve partner performance on our marketplace.
This role is about navigating the messy reality of high-stakes partnerships where the answers aren't always clear. You will need to balance C-level strategic planning with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting daily operational hurdles. If you are a resilient problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can influence without authority, this is where you’ll grow.
What you’ll do
- Build and implement data-driven strategic plans that exceed revenue targets through upsell initiatives and the identification of new growth levers.
- Lead complex commercial renegotiations and Joint Business Planning (JBP) sessions, aligning internal stakeholders with partner priorities to secure long-term value.
- Act as the primary point of contact for retail HQ, managing C-level relationships and driving partner satisfaction through proactive support and performance reviews.
- Navigate internal complexity by collaborating across local, regional, and global teams to unblock partner issues and scale innovative business solutions.
- Maintain an operational mindset by stepping into the details to troubleshoot KPI performance, improve merchant processes, and ensure day-to-day execution excellence.
- Adapt to shifting market dynamics and local franchisee needs, making smart trade-offs between short-term unblocking and long-term strategic goals.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience, ideally in consulting, account management, or business development.
- Full proficiency in both English and the local language.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience managing complex, long-cycle negotiations and high-value partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a tech company, scale-up environment, or the grocery/retail industry.
- Proficiency in SQL to drive deeper data-led insights.
- Proven ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and manage multiple stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
- Strong systems-thinking approach with the ability to turn unstructured problems into actionable plans.
