Logistics Strategy & Operations Manager, Uber Direct Mexico
Operations
Miguel Hidalgo, Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico
About the role and team
Uber Direct is Uber's on-demand delivery solution for businesses, helping merchants move products to their customers by leveraging the scale and technology of Uber's delivery network.
Mexico is a large and complex market, and the scope of our Operations team continues to evolve as the business grows. We are looking for an Operations Manager who can help us solve increasingly complex operational challenges, improve how the business performs today, and build the capabilities we will need for what comes next.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable working with data, solving operational problems, and driving execution across teams. You will own problems end-to-end: understanding what is happening, identifying the root cause, determining what we should do about it, and working with cross-functional teams to make it happen.
What You’ll Do
- Own key Uber Direct operations in Mexico, driving performance and adapting the operation as the business grows.
- Launch and operate new business verticals, including end-to-end logistics, ensuring they perform and scale.
- Help grow our cash business by identifying and solving the operational challenges that limit its scale.
- Work with local merchants, including grocery and retail partners, to understand their operations, solve problems, and improve performance.
- Use data and SQL to identify performance gaps, find root causes, and turn insights into action.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve processes, tools, and automation as our operations grow..
Basic Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, last-mile/middle-mile operations, logistics technology, or a similarly complex B2B operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with significant autonomy and build solutions where no established playbook exists.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to diagnose operational performance, identify root causes, and translate data into business decisions.
- Experience solving complex, ambiguous operational problems end-to-end, particularly where existing processes or products did not fully address the business need.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with commercial, account management/customer success, product, and operational teams to develop solutions for business or enterprise customers.
- Ability to understand a customer's operational needs and translate them into scalable solutions, balancing customer requirements with operational feasibility and business economics.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B logistics, last mile, middle mile, fulfillment, 3PL/4PL, delivery platforms, or enterprise logistics solutions.
- Experience working with large enterprise customers, particularly grocery, retail, e-commerce, or other businesses with complex logistics requirements.
- Experience launching zero-to-one products, services, verticals, or operational capabilities in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Understanding of logistics economics and performance drivers, such as cost-to-serve, utilization, service levels, delivery reliability, capacity, and unit economics.
- Experience working directly with customers to understand operational workflows, identify pain points, and design or adapt solutions around their needs.
- Experience partnering with Product/Engineering teams to translate operational or customer requirements into product improvements or new capabilities.
- Experience working with globally distributed stakeholders across multiple time zones and cultures.
