About the role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle HCM Cloud professional with deep expertise in Payroll Fast Formula development and strong knowledge of Oracle Payroll processing and configuration. This role will focus on designing, developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex Fast Formulas that support payroll calculations and business requirements. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing Fast Formulas across other Oracle HCM modules and a strong understanding of how formulas interact with HCM configuration, integrations, and downstream processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle Payroll Fast Formulas supporting payroll calculations and business requirements.
- Develop formulas supporting earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, balances, eligibility, proration, retroactive processing, and other payroll calculations.
- Analyze complex payroll requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable Fast Formula solutions.
- Troubleshoot payroll calculation and formula issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Review and optimize existing Fast Formulas for performance, maintainability, and accuracy.
- Develop and support Fast Formulas across other Oracle HCM areas, including Time & Labor, Absence Management, Compensation, Benefits, and Core HR.
- Partner with Payroll functional teams to understand payroll configuration, calculation requirements, and processing impacts.
- Support end-to-end testing of formulas, including unit testing, payroll validation, regression testing, and production deployment.
- Analyze the impact of formula changes across Payroll, Time & Labor, Absence, integrations, reports, and downstream systems.
- Support Oracle quarterly releases by assessing potential impacts to existing formulas and validating critical payroll calculations.
- Maintain technical and functional documentation for complex formula logic and calculation designs.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll Fast Formula development.
- Deep understanding of Oracle Payroll calculations, elements, balances, inputs, payroll processing, and retroactive processing.
- Proven experience designing and developing complex Fast Formulas for payroll calculations.
- Strong experience troubleshooting Fast Formula and payroll calculation issues.
- Experience using database items, contexts, inputs, functions, arrays, and other Fast Formula capabilities to implement complex business logic.
- Experience with Fast Formula development outside Payroll, such as Time & Labor, Absence Management, Compensation.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between Fast Formula, Oracle HCM configuration, payroll processing, and integrations.
- Experience supporting full lifecycle development, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and troubleshoot complex calculation logic.
Preferred qualifications
- Extensive experience developing Fast Formulas in large-scale or complex Oracle Payroll environments.
- Experience with global or multi-country Oracle Payroll implementations.
- Strong functional knowledge of Oracle Payroll in addition to Fast Formula development expertise.
- Experience with Time & Labor and Absence Fast Formulas and their integration with Payroll.
- Experience analyzing and optimizing complex or high-volume Fast Formulas.
- Understanding of Oracle HCM Extracts, HDL/HSDL, BI Publisher, and HCM integrations.
- Experience supporting Oracle quarterly releases and regression testing of payroll calculations.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex calculation logic to functional and technical teams.
