About The Role
As an Application Developer II (IAM Operations Engineer), you will take ownership of maintaining, scaling, and enhancing our enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment to deliver robust, seamless access controls. We are seeking a security-focused professional who thrives on bringing structure to complex systems and partnering closely with cross-functional technical teams to address critical infrastructure needs. In this role, you will lead end-to-end IAM workflows and system integrations, apply strong hands-on coding and architectural design principles, and drive strategic operational planning. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth experience with identity governance frameworks, authentication protocols, and core access control standards.
What You'll Do
- Identity Lifecycle Management: Own provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control workflows across enterprise systems.
- Security & Access Controls: Implement and administer RBAC, Least Privilege, JIT, SSO, MFA, and PAM solutions.
- Incident Resolution: Investigate IAM security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive platform improvements.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure alignment with SOX, GDPR, and HIPAA through regular audits, control validations, and access reviews.
- Platform Administration: Configure cloud and enterprise platforms including Active Directory, Okta, SailPoint, Entra ID, Duo, CyberArk, AWS, and GCP.
- Automation & Integration: Develop maintainable Python and PowerShell automation and API integrations to streamline IAM workflows.
- Architecture & Planning: Translate complex requirements into practical technical designs and execution roadmaps.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Security, IT, and Compliance teams to manage risks and deliver key dependencies.
- AI & Analytics Integration: Leverage AI tools to optimize support workflows, generate metrics, and identify security trends.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in IAM operations with proven ownership of enterprise production systems and integrations.
- Proficiency in Python or PowerShell for developing production-ready IAM automation and API integrations.
- Hands-on expertise with IAM protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP), directory services, and major platforms (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, Entra ID).
- Strong system design, technical planning, and troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-platform environments.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, GDPR, SOX) and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Zero Trust security models and AI-driven identity analytics.
- Knowledge of Cloud IAM (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud IAM) and AI-enhanced cloud security.
- Hands-on experience with IAM automation platforms, AI-based fraud detection, and anomaly detection.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and AI-driven IAM orchestration strategies.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $153,000 per year - USD $170,000 per year.
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
