Who You Are
You are an effective DevOps engineer who thinks about security, automation, scalability, and reliability. You have a propensity for creating processes that enable you and the rest of the team to work more effectively. You have responsibility for the configuration, security, and scalability of our SAAS application production environment.
About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work to automate processes, make sure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Automate configuration of production systems
- Ensure that data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Ensure that data is backed up on a regular basis and that the backups work
- Ensure that the production environment is observable
- Ensure that principles of least access are followed
- Ensure that we are using our production resources in a cost effective manner
- Ensure compliance
About You
- 3+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer
- Strong bias toward automation and efficiency
- Proficient in managing and deploying cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP/Azure, etc.)
- Experienced with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, etc.)
- Solid understanding of GitOps principles and workflows
- Skilled in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Proficient in database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with observability practices, including metrics, logging, and tracing for applications and infrastructure
Security and Privacy Responsibilities
- Member of the CSIRT Team
- Follow our policy and procedure documents related to security and privacy
- Follow the guidelines in the Employee Handbook
- Participate in new hire and annual training for security and privacy
- Treat data security and privacy as one of your primary job responsibilities
- Report Security Incidents you discover as bugs
- Get approval from the Security Team before adding new 3rd party software to our codebase
- Explicitly consider security implications when doing PR reviews.
