Why Weave Exists

At Weave, our mission is to evolve how therapeutic knowledge is captured, transformed, and communicated throughout drug development. We do this by equipping human experts with AI instruments to enable drugs to be brought to patients as rapidly, safely, and inexpensively as possible.

The Weave Platform streamlines regulatory workflows from start to finish by intelligently, creatively, and effectively infusing every step with AI. Together with our customers, Weave is designing and building the AI workbench for the entire therapeutic lifecycle.

The Role & Your Mission

We are seeking a Director of Finance & Operations to join our team, reporting directly to the CEO. As a Series A company experiencing rapid growth, we need someone who can build the operational foundation that will scale with us from 20 to 200+ people. You will be the architect of our operational infrastructure, the steward of our financial health, and a key strategic partner in driving company-wide efficiency and growth.

What You'll Own

  • Financial leadership: You'll own all financial operations including accounting, FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting. You'll build our financial models, manage our runway, and provide the financial insights that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Legal operations: You’ll own our legal and contracting processes, ensuring they run smoothly and rapidly. You’ll be the frontline for triage and business input on contracting questions.
  • Systems and processes: You'll design and implement the systems, processes, and tools that allow us to operate efficiently at scale. From HR to vendor management and workspace planning, you'll ensure every operational function runs smoothly so the team can focus on building and selling.
  • AI infusion: You’ll seek creative and pragmatic ways to incorporate AI into our operations to create speed and efficiency.
  • Team building: You'll build and lead the operations and finance function, hiring and developing a world-class team as we scale.
  • Risk management: You'll identify and mitigate operational and financial risks, ensuring we have appropriate insurance, contracts, compliance frameworks, and business continuity plans in place.

What You'll Bring

  • Builder mentality: You thrive in 0-to-1 environments and love building systems from the ground up. You're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to do the work yourself and designing the processes that will outlast your direct involvement.
  • Financial acumen: You have deep expertise in financial planning, analysis, and/or accounting. You can build sophisticated models, interpret complex financial data, and translate numbers into strategic insights. You understand SaaS metrics and unit economics inside and out.
  • Operational excellence: You embody quality and rigor in every aspect of your own work and can help teams continually raise their own bars. You can foster a culture of excellence that is inspiring, not oppressive.
  • Strategic thinker: You see around corners and can anticipate what the company will need six, twelve, twenty-four months from now. You balance today's operational needs with tomorrow's strategic imperatives.
  • Poised communicator: You can distill complex information into clear narratives for different audiences, from the team to executives to investors.

Experience requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in operations, finance, or related functions at high-growth technology companies
  • 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally including experience at a Series A/B stage startup
  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with B2B SaaS business models and metrics
  • Track record of successfully scaling operations through phases of high growth
